A GUIDE TO DAITO CITY CENTRAL LIBRARY

OUTLINE

The Daito City Central Library is established in April 1987.
The collection of the library includes over 134,000 volumes and 137 current journals in total
and has a seating capacity of 38 and occupies 850 net square meters.

SERVICE HOURS

Monday-Sunday Open 9:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Loan 9:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m
National Holiday Open 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Loan 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m

CLOSED DAYS

The first Monday, the second Monday and the third Monday.
Dec. 29-Jan. 3
During inventory periods

LOAN POLICIES

All citizens living in Daito City and the people working or learning in Daito City may borrow non-reference materials.
People living , working and learning near Daito City from other cities may also borrow the book of our library, reservation is not available.
Books: a maximum of 8 volumes for two weeks and can be renewed only once unless borrowing limitation is overdue or reserved by another user.
Journals: is located in front of circulation desk. Journals except current issues may be borrowed for two weeks.
Reference books, newspapers and special materials may only be used in the library.

BORROWING

Library card is needed to borrow material from library.

BOOK RETURNS

Materials must be returned at the circulation. When the library is closed, place it in the book return box in the right of the entrance hall.

FINDING BOOKS

1. Books
You can get information about bibliography and location material in the library from online catalogue called OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue).
A computer terminal for public use of OPAC system is located near the circulation desk.
2. Reference books
Reference books of non-circulation are housed in the reference corner.

RESERVE PROCEDURES

If a book is not available on the shelves, please inquire at the circulation desk. A search will be made for the book. If the book is in circulation, you may reserve the book. Reservation forms are available at the circulation desk.

REQUESTS

We welcome requests for the acquisition of books from all citizens of Daito city and people working and learning in Daito city.
Request forms are available at the circulation desk.

REFERENCE BOOK CORNER

The library provides reference books, such as bibliographies, dictionaries, and yearbooks.
These books are “non-circulation” and are shelved in the reference corner.
The reference corner is available to individual study with these books, after reserving at the circulation desk.

USING INTERNET COMPUTER

Internet computer is available to the library’s user after reserving at the circulation desk.

LOST MATERIALS

Lost materials must be replaced by the borrower. If it is impossible to obtain the same materials, consult the staff at the circulation desk.

PHOTOCOPYING

Photocopy machine is placed at the photocopy corner near the circulation desk. The charge for the copy is 10 yen per page(50 yen for color) by self-service in cash.

BOOK-MOBILE SERVICES

Book-mobile goes round semimonthly to the six stations in the city.
Borrowing and returning are available at the each station.

A GUIDE TO DAITO CITY WEST LIBRARY

OUTLINE

The Daito City West Library is established in April 2006. The Library named “Raiburari Nango” is located in Nango Park of the west area in Daito City. The collection of the library includes over 134,000 volumes and 125 current journals in total and has a seating capacity of 74 and occupies 1,226 net square meters.
“Raiburari Nango” consists of The Daito City West Library on the second floor and Lifelong Learning Room on the first floor.

Monday-Sunday Open 9:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Loan 9:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m
National Holiday Open 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Loan 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m

OUTLINE

The Daito City East Library was established in April 2012.
The library houses over 113,000 books and 92 titles of journals.
It occupies 1,266 square meters and 110 seats are available.

During the inventory

LOAN POLICIES

All the citizens in Daito City and the people working or learning in the city can borrow books and journals.
People living, working or learning near Daito City also can borrow books but reservations are not available.
Up to 8 books can be borrowed for two weeks and can be renewed once unless borrowing date is overdue or someone reserves them.
Journals except current issues can be borrowed for two weeks.
Reference books, newspapers and special materials are not for loan.

Users can borrow books through the automatic lending machine.

Borrowers must compensate for the lost materials. If it is impossible to obtain the same materials, consult the counter.

PHOTOCOPYING

A self-service photocopy machine stands in the photocopy corner near the counter. A copy costs 10 yen; color one does 50 yen.

BOOK-MOBILE SERVICE

The book-mobile goes round the six stations in the city twice a month.
Borrowing and returning are available at any station.

FOR USERS’ INFORMATION

Eating and drinking are prohibited in the library.
The library is smoke-free.
Using cell phones is prohibited.
